Many projects require a proper mapping of steel reinforcements present in the concrete or masonry: restoration or extension works on buildings, installation of new fittings on existing structures, control of structure resistance (including to earthquakes), dismantlement… INNOGEO uses several non-invasive tools such as structural radar imaging and Ferroscan.
These different technologies, used together, allow us to locate reinforcements, but also to determine, to some extent, the thickness of the concrete cover and the steel diameters. We sometimes operate chippings with a pneumatic drill to clear out steels and check the results of the non-invasive investigations.
INNOGEO carries out work for the infrastructures and building industries. We operate on any type of civil engineering structure, in particular in the nuclear field.
These technologies are vastly used to locate reinforcements and steels before making samplings or drillings of concrete elements, to install networks in buildings, or to undertake works on civil engineering structures. They are also used as part of deconstruction works to map the wiring of reinforcements and decide on an
appropriate deconstruction method.
