Detection of steel reinforcements in concrete

ferroscan

INNOGEO is a service provider of steel reinforcement detection and characterisation in concrete structures. Several non-invasive investigation tools are used in conjunction: the GPR and the pachymeter, as well as the Ferroscan.  These technologies used together allow us to locate reinforcements, but also to determine, to some extent, the thickness of the concrete cover and the diameter of the steel reinforcement bars. It can be useful to occasionally perform chippings with a pneumatic drill in order to clear out steels and check the results of the non-invasive investigations. These are then closed with concrete. These investigations are of the utmost importance when studying the resistance of old structures, especially for restructuring project that imply the destruction or the extension of some structures. Indeed, the location of their reinforcement steels is often unknown or uncertain. In this case, it is crucial to ensure that the final resistance of the structure is adequate, otherwise consolidation works will have to be undertaken. INNOGEO can rely on many years of experience in the field and on its technical resources to conduct these investigations. Our latest missions were carried out at an office building in the 16th arrondissement of Paris and at an old industrial building in Les Ulis, in the Paris region.
